All of the stakeholders involved in the venue planning for the London 2012 bid had a clear vision that these venues had to be sustainable in the long term.
Working for a number of these stakeholders, including the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, pmplegacy was retained to evaluate the viability, long term use and overall sustainability of venues such as the Velopark (Velodrome and BMX Cycling) and the White Water Canoe Centre at Broxbourne. Our work involved detailed feasibility, extensive liaison with National Governing Bodies and the preparation of business plans. Effective legacy planning was at the heart of London’s bid and is now playing a key stimulus for the regeneration of East London.
