Madrid 2016, one of the four Candidate Cities for the 2016 summer Olympic and Paralympic Games appointed pmplegacy to work with them on the application stage primarily leading on the legacy component.
Having secured Candidate City status, our role was expanded to that of Bid and Legacy consultants, responsible for coordinating the 17 themes of the Candidature File and on the development of the Legacy Plan. Work included the implementation of the Legacy Plan in conjunction with the Legacy Commission and advising on presentations; promotion of the bid at conferences such as Sportaccord and for the IOC Evaluation Commission visits in June 2009 and then supporting the local organising committee on all aspects of the bid through to the IOC Assembly in Copenhagen on 2 October 2009.
