Dougal Nicholls is a Director of Consulting at pmplegacy and brings a wide range of major event experience to the team. His event experience includes: provision of expertise on facilities, business planning and financing for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Feasibility Study; project management of a feasibility study into the development of an IRB sevens tournament in the Scottish Borders for the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) and Event Scotland; and a feasibility and options appraisal on behalf of Event Scotland, SRU and the Scottish Government to assess the viability and deliverability of hosting the Rugby World Cup and providing recommendations with regard to bidding.

On behalf of EventScotland and Cricket Scotland, Dougal project managed the bid to host the 2013 Twenty20 Cricket World Cup and also led a team providing support to the Rugby Football Union for their bid for the 2007 Rugby World Cup (RWC) which resulted in the further commissioning to support a bid for the 2015 RWC. In addition, Dougal directed the Pennine Lancashire Event Strategy, which involved the development of a five year event strategy framework and plan for the Adrenaline Gateway project in Lancashire, England.
