pmplegacy to assess lessons learnt from previous Olympic Games
pmplegacy, working with the Centre for Olympic Studies and Research at Loughborough University, have recently been appointed by the National Audit Office (NAO) to assess the lessons learnt from the delivery of previous Olympic Games.

The study will involve an exhaustive review of the literature developed around previous Olympic Games and other 'mega' events to provide an insight into the issues likely to impact on London 2012 delivery organisations and public sector stakeholders. This analysis will use official documents developed by previous host city delivery organisations, independent audits and academic and commercial analysis documents.

Our work will incorporate a systematic review and will be used to provide the NAO with a summary report which reflects the principal delivery issues, risks, successes and solutions which are relevant to London. This report will draw on direct evidence from the documents as well as our assessment of the robustness of findings. We will also work with experts in the field of mega event delivery to validate the results of the literature review and prioritise the critical messages. A second proposed output is a searchable framework which categorises and summarises each document, with the intention that this will provide the NAO with instant access to the full document library.
